All of the care settings have one thing in common when it comes to the expectations of the stakeholders: they want an EBP QI project that will have a beneficial effect on the environment of the healthcare setting. The only difference that occurred between the various stakeholders was that the acute care setting stakeholders required a more detailed EBP QI project, whereas the other care settings only required the quality improvement part of the project results (CDC, 2020). This is the only difference that occurred among the stakeholders.
The acute care hospital is the proposed location for the health care setting, and the proposed problem for the Practice is the inadequate waste disposal system as well as waste segregation techniques. I decided on the methods to use. The problem is important to me because, in acute care hospitals, proper waste disposal and segregation of waste are essential components in preventing the spread of infectious diseases among patients as well as among the medical staff who provide care for them (World Health Organization, 2018). Therefore, a quality improvement Evidence-Based Practice project is required to provide solutions for improved waste disposal techniques and improved waste segregation methods in order to reduce the spread of infectious diseases among healthcare providers as well as patients (World Health Organization, 2018).
